YouTube description generator
A description that gets found and read: a hook for the two lines YouTube shows, a clear summary, your links and chapters exactly as you typed them, three hashtags and search tags. It only says what you tell it: no made-up results or claims.
Anatomy of a good description
- The first two lines (about 150 characters) show under the video and in search. Say what the viewer gets, with the main keyword early.
- A short summary helps YouTube understand the video and helps viewers decide to stay.
- Chapters (starting at 0:00, at least three) make the video easier to navigate and can show up in search.
- Three hashtags: YouTube shows the first three above the title.
FAQ
How long should a YouTube description be?
YouTube allows 5,000 characters. 150–300 words is plenty for most videos; what matters most is the first two lines.
How many hashtags should I use?
Three. If a video has more than 60 hashtags, YouTube ignores all of them.
Do tags still matter?
A little. YouTube says they mostly help with misspellings. The title, thumbnail and description matter far more. Tags are capped at 500 characters, and the generator keeps under that.
